iPad - Blank Screen or distorted image
After performing a repair the device may not show an image. Try these troubleshooting steps:
- Make sure the iPad is charged by plugging the device into a computer with iTunes open. It will show you the charge of the device.
- Do a hard reset by holding down the power and home button simultaneously until the iPad screen goes black or for at least 10-15 seconds.
- Re-seat the LCD cable by first powering off the device (Step 2) and then disconnecting the battery. Reinsert the connector and retry.
- Check the LCD. iPad LCDs are notoriously thin and fragile, making it really easy to crack these. To check for signs of a crack hold it against a bright light.
If you've tried these steps and the LCD is still very dim (though there might be an image) it is likely you've accidentally blown a backlight fuse. Fortunately this is an easy and economical fix, but requires you to take it to a repair shop.
